There is a big market for teaching English in France because most of the local companies would like to improve their staffs’ English. Business English and English for Special Purposes (ESP) are two major areas of opportunity. Private language schools, companies and French Chambers of Commerce are the most popular places for English teachers to find the well-paid jobs. Salaries for teachers may vary immensely depending on teachers’ qualification and experience. Generally the hourly rate is around $23USD.
As France is a member of the EU, non–EU citizens need to apply for a work permit prior to arrival.
